Here's How to Reach Wakatobi For Newcomer

The main tourist destination to Wakatobi is to enjoy the beauty of the marine park charm lies in the heart of the world's coral triangle. When staying at Wanci, there are many diving sites and snorkeling. Closest spots that can be visited is around ferry boat harbor, behind Wakatobi Hotel, around Patuno Resort, Sousu Beach, or about 30 minutes to cross the reef Kapota Island.
For Kaledupa Island, can be reached by speedboat, about 2 hours. One favorite spot is near Hoga Island. There you can dive, snorkel, swim, sunbathe and do beach sports. Hoga Island also became a central activity of Wallace Operation since 1995.
In the region there are underwater research facility, supporting diving and snorkeling activities. In addition, there are homestay available run by local people with an amount of about 100 units. The price for rent is Rp 50,000 per person.
Want more? An interesting place to visit is the island of Tomia and Binongko region. Distance of about 5 hours by speed boat transportation.
Besides enjoying the beaches and underwater, Wakatobi also has some historical tourist destinations (the fort), natural caves, the villages of Bajo, natural scenery (sunset and sunrise). Wakatobi is best to visit between October to early December and April to June. At that time little choppy seas making it easier to travel and more comfortable to swim or snorkel.
